Pickling Carrots!


Ugh. I've had a raging headache all day. That plus the impeachment hearings. What a day. I made this video yesterday when I was feeling much more energetic. Today I mostly took to my bed!


A couple of things about the pickling. First, it was super easy. Second, I have no idea how it tastes, because I haven't tried it yet! Third, I forgot to tell the viewers the most important thing: How long to leave it in the jar!


That's the great thing about pickling. You can try the contents after 24 hours! Of course, the longer you leave it, the more taste it will acquire. When you leave it in the jar for the shortened amount of time, it is less likely that it will fall prey to bacteria - or botulism! (My husband's greatest fear!) I'm going to try this in about a week and then I will do a taste test with both the fermented purple carrots, and the pickled golden carrots. That will be a treat!
